Laser Tag is GO for 2017

OK, at the 3/5/2017 meeting, the advanced group agreed to work on getting a working Arduino based IR (Infra Red) Laser Tag gun system up and working.
Lots of great ideas put forward. I suggested that a few different development focus groups be established and we ended up with:
James, Michael – Sound effects and future gun design – possible 3D printing or NERF refit.
Justin, Corran – Game play flow, features, how it works as a game.
Elliot – Arduino coding and future custom PCB design and production.

Defining the “Game Play” is important. Here is an example of setting the rules and how the game will work. Its about 1/3 the way down under a heading “Designing the ‘Duino tag gun'”

An example with good ideas of an Arduino Laser Tag gun is given here.
They use a different Arduino but the series of 3 articles by Duane O’Brien gives almost everything you need to make a system with a few mods for the Arduino UNO and a sound module for realistic game play.
